Well haven't I been slack... but it has been a case of no news is good news. Everything has been going really well with the pregnancy and we have only 9 days to go until our next scan.
I am 17 weeks and 4 days and now have a little baby bump. Each day I would wake up being pretty "normal" with only a bit of a tubby belly - the "is she just getting a bit fat or is she pregnant" look. By bed time I would always have a more defined baby bump. And then I would wake up the next morning and it would be back to being tiny again. On Christmas morning I got a little extra Christmas present. I woke up and the bump was still there. Heath took one look at me and said "my god! Look at your bump" It was a nice little extra present. Between Christmas and new years I definitely popped out more.. and now - only a week into 2010 my bump is becoming more noticeable. :)
Over the last few weeks I have been getting quite a few movements here and there. I first felt very tiny flutters around 10 weeks. I felt these for about 2 weeks and then they disappeared. They were so light that I was thinking "are they Snowflake or is it something else".
They returned again at around 14 weeks and have been slowing increasing. A week or so back I felt my first "rolling" movement instead of little "flicks". Both of these movements are amazing. I love feeling the teeny tiny flicks. The rolling movement was amazing - especially being able to feel where Snowflake was moving from and to :)
Tonight I felt my very first definitive kick! It was on the right side of my belly around the middle. It was a very strong kick to begin with followed by 5 or 6 lighter kicks, but they were still definitely kick feelings and not little flicks or rolls. Unfortunately Heath wasn't able to feel them just yet - but I have a feeling it won't be too long now until he can.
I was also thinking tonight that it seems like a lifetime ago that I was sitting here trying to work up the courage to stick myself with that first injection of clexane. I'm so glad for this pregnancy and I can't wait to see our little Snowflake next Thursday :)
yay bel, your belly is so cute
