Today I had my first Dr appointment for this pregnancy. I went to see Dr Yeo in Ballina who is a really lovely dr, who is very willing to help.. and also bulk bills :D which is an added bonus. He started by congratulating me and shaking my hand and telling me that he hopes everything works out for us this time.
I then told him about the clexane and he freaked a bit.. but after I explained all the testing etc and the results, he understood.. and promptly wrote me a new script to get my through the first trimester.
We then went through what I wanted in terms of pregnancy monitoring. I explained what SIVF offer (and how much it costs just to get the referrals eek!) and he was willing to do something similar for me. He has given me a referral for some blood tests as well as all the ultrasounds that SIVF recommend for preg. monitoring for recurrent miscarriage.
- 6wks 4 days
- 8wks
- 10wks
Dr Yeo also contacted the pathology lab to make sure that the blood works I want to be done will be covered under medicare (twice a week testing Bhcg, progesterone and full blood count). In addition he called Dr Steele (Obstetrician) and booked me in "sooner rather then later" - on the 21st Oct.
He also gave my estimated due date based on my last period as the 12th June 2010 - but all the checks I do online indicate that if based on that it would be the 10th June 2010 - so im pretty sure he looked at the wrong date on his little wheel (plus the days he gave me for my scans don't really add up based on that first date.. but would based on the 10th June). However we have estimated that my due to be around the 6th June as I ovulated early (cycle day 11) the cycle we fell preg.
So we have a heap of appointments over the next few months.
- Fri 9th Oct - Dr Tinker (baby GP who Im hoping to do shared care through for the pregnancy)
- Thur 15th Oct - (EPAS) Early Pregnancy Assessment service (may need to go in for a scan the day before that)
- 20th Oct - ultrasound (I may cancel this one if all goes well at the one on the 15th at the EPAS)
- Wed 21st Oct - Dr Steele
- Thur 29th Oct - Ultrasound
- Thur 12th Nov - Ultrasound
- approx Thur 26th Nov - Nuchal ultrasound and blood works
These appointments might change as I see more doctors, depending on their recommendations - but I am really looking forward to seeing our little Snowflake in a couple of weeks time.
So... all is happening and im feeling ok at the moment. Now... just to get these blood test results so we know if the levels are moving in the right direction.
